Richard bought a VR 360 camera in July of 2015 and started working on VR Apartments. The company wasn’t widely marketed until April of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. VR Apartments was incorporated as an S-Corporation in August of 2020. As a startup news media firm, VR Apartments, Inc. covers new listings that hit the market in virtual reality. We keep up to date with the trends in the VR industry as well as real estate to keep you informed and entertained.
Richard graduated from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business with a concentration in Finance in December of 2016. He was a member of SREG – Stern Real Estate Group.
Starting his career in real estate at age 18, he interned at RE/MAX Midtown, one of the first-ever offices of the RE/MAX franchise to open in Manhattan. He acquired a license to be a Real Estate Salesperson and worked in a boutique real estate firm renting apartments in the hottest neighborhoods of Manhattan and Brooklyn. During the semester, he interned at Ariel Property Advisors analyzing commercial real estate transactions, soliciting landlords to transfer air-rights, and building portfolios of triple-net-lease assets to divest through 1031 exchange. The founder of the Off Campus Apartments NYC Team at Oxford Property Group recruited Richard and he quickly became the top-performing agent renting dozens of apartments to student-peers at NYU and advising their parents on the New York City real estate market.
Upon graduating, he worked as a Leasing Analyst for J. CREW overseeing their 250+ retail locations in the US, Canada, and London contacting landlords for reimbursements contingent upon variations in insurance, common area maintenance, utilities, and real estate tax reconciliations. Afterward, he worked as a Business Development Associate at a financial technology and data management start-up company with a focus on directly connecting allocators and investors to alternative asset managers – mainly hedge funds. He helped allocators easily compare asset managers by streamlining their due-diligence process by communicating with General Partners and Directors of Investor Relations about their idea generation, strategy, risk management, and returns. He successfully sold subscriptions and other products such as videos, podcasts and thought leadership reports on niche alternative investment strategies to help fund managers advertise their intelligence and raise capital.
Richard left his position as a Gatekeeper to join a law firm where he helped clients facing financial hardship negotiate their debt payments as an alternative to filing bankruptcy. In February of 2019, he was recruited by a top-performing real estate retail broker to work as a Junior Partner with a primary role as an Acquisitions Associate. He supported all functions of the business including sourcing commercial real estate opportunities with upside potential, market research, underwriting, and due diligence.
Building a VR company was his passion, so he started marketing his service to top-performing agents when the pandemic hit.
